Come see the Oscar Winning Documentary by Al Gore “An Inconvenient Truth”. Discover what is happening to our planet with this interesting presentation of global climate science and be enthused about global warming.

Afterwards, we will engage in spiritual activism by reciting a very powerful Buddhist Sutra, the Sutra of Golden Light. Reciting this sutra creates the cause to elect leaders who can create policies for peace and environmental sanity! Discussion to follow. This is also a chance to meet with Venerable Nyingje to discuss and plan her wish to make a walking Peace Pilgrimage for 108 days in Scotland in 2008 and to ask her any questions about buddhism or healing or political activism.

Ven NyingjeVenerable Nyingje (Paula Chichester) has studied natural healing methods of many kinds over the last 30 years, including chi gong, yoga, Bodytalk, Quantum-touch, flower remedies, nutrition and acupressure massage. During a visit to Dharamsala, India in 1982, inspired by Kyabje Zong Rinpoche, she abandoned a Ph.D. fellowship at UC Berkeley to adopt the lifestyle of a meditator under the guidance of Lama Thubten Yeshe. She ordained as a Buddhist nun, and completed two 4 year solitary retreats. She is now sharing her experience of over 23 years of retreat life, by teaching meditation and leading group retreats, using in her practice healing, music and movement.
